Board firmware and Flipper app

Scout Lite firmware scout-lite-v1.2.0 runs on the ESP32-C5. The version in the flasher is that release, not an upstream Marauder tag.

SigRoam Flipper FAP is the companion app installed on Flipper Zero. Install it from the SigRoam Flipper app page. Pick the file that matches the Flipper firmware. Do not flash a .fap onto Scout Lite.

Do I need to flash it?

Scout Lite ships with ESP32 Marauder pre-installed. Use this page to update or restore the board to scout-lite-v1.2.0. Install the Flipper app separately on the Flipper Zero SD card.

How do I flash it?

  1. Check the firmware reads scout-lite-v1.2.0. Leave Erase entire flash first off. That update keeps saved Wi-Fi, the WiGLE API name and token, the ignore list, and the split size. Turn erase on only if this board was last flashed with SigRoam Scanner Firmware. Erase does not touch the microSD card.
  2. Hold BOOT on Scout Lite, plug in the USB-C cable, then release BOOT. If already connected, hold BOOT and tap RESET.
  3. Click Connect and choose the Scout Lite serial port.
  4. Check the firmware selection, then click Flash and wait for completion.
  5. Unplug Scout Lite's USB-C cable before mounting it on Flipper Zero.

Why do I have to hold BOOT?

This browser flasher uses manual download-mode entry for Scout Lite's ESP32-C5 native USB connection. Follow the BOOT sequence above before connecting.

Which browsers can flash the Scout Lite?

BrowserSupported
Chrome / Edge (desktop)✅ Yes
Chrome (Android)✅ Yes
Firefox 151+ (desktop)✅ Yes — first use adds a permission add-on

What is the Scout Lite?

Scout Lite is PINGEQUA's dual-band Wi-Fi expansion board for Flipper Zero, with an onboard GNSS receiver and microSD slot. Scanning, GPS-tagged records and logging depend on the installed firmware and compatible Flipper app. See the Scout Lite product overview and guide.

What is ESP32 Marauder?

ESP32 Marauder is an open-source wireless analysis toolkit. Scout Lite firmware scout-lite-v1.2.0 is PINGEQUA's build for this board, based on Marauder v1.18.0. info still reports Version: v1.18.0. This page does not flash upstream Marauder releases.

What is SigRoam?

SigRoam Wardriving is the Flipper app (.fap), not the board image. Install v0.9.1 from the SigRoam page and choose the file for your Flipper firmware. The older SigRoam scanner image for the ESP32-C5 is not offered here.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to flash the Scout Lite myself?

No. Scout Lite ships with ESP32 Marauder pre-installed. Use this page to update or restore the board firmware. A compatible app is installed separately on Flipper Zero.

Which firmware does this page flash?

Only Scout Lite firmware scout-lite-v1.2.0, the ESP32 Marauder fork for this board. Upstream Marauder and the SigRoam scanner image are not in the list. The SigRoam Flipper app is installed from the Flipper page and does not replace this image.

Which board does this flash?

The Scout Lite's ESP32-C5-WROOM-1U. The ESP32-C5 is a dual-band RISC-V chip (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). The onboard GPS and microSD are peripherals supported software can use — they are not flashed separately.

How do I put the Scout Lite into download mode?

Hold BOOT, plug in the USB-C cable while still holding BOOT, then release BOOT and click Connect. The C5's native USB doesn't yet support automatic download-mode entry in the browser flasher, so it's entered manually.

What does this image write?

Three files from scout-lite-v1.2.0: bootloader at 0x2000, partition table at 0x8000, and the app at 0x10000. The write stops inside app0 and does not touch SPIFFS at 0x670000, so saved Wi-Fi, the WiGLE API name and token, the ignore list, and the split size stay. The microSD card is not written. Erase entire flash first is off by default. Turn it on only if the board still runs SigRoam Scanner Firmware (app at 0x20000).

Where is the Flipper app?

Install the optional SigRoam Flipper companion app (.fap) from https://flash.pingequa.com/devices/flipper-sigroam. That page writes it to the Flipper SD card and states which Flipper firmware it supports. This page flashes the Scout Lite only. Do not flash the .fap onto the ESP32.

Which browsers can flash the Scout Lite?

Chrome or Edge on desktop, Chrome on Android, or Firefox 151+ on desktop. Browser flashing uses the Web Serial API; in Firefox the first connection also adds a permission add-on. Safari and every browser on iOS cannot flash.
